Who am I? Well, for starters, I am one of the few students in this semester's ENC 3021 Rhetoric course at Florida State University? However, there is much more to me than just another name on the attendance sheet. . .

My name is Abigail Merzel! Most people call me Abby. I am a third year at FSU studying Editing, Writing, and Media with a minor in Communications. I am unsure where this degree will take me and what I will do post-grad. However, I am living in the most trying to get the most out of my undergraduate experience! So far, I have joined a Panhellenic Sorority on campus (Chi Omega), studied abroad at an FSU campus in Valencia, Spain, and changed my major (and minor) a few times. So, some would say I am definitely making use of my time at university dipping my toes into a plethora of areas.

Before college, I lived in Boca Raton, Florida and was a student-athlete. I grew up in the same town for 17 years of my life (1 of those years being in Miami) and played lacrosse for most of those years. Florida State was never on my radar, and I had plans for attending college out-of-state. Of course, in-state tuition is much more appealing, so I took my chances on FSU and now three years later I couldn't be happier!
This semester, I am taking a lot of different EWM Major requirements. This will be my second official semester in this major! Previously, I was a Political Science major, but after being recommended to try out EWM from one of my sorority sisters, I made the switch! This course is one of those, on top of the History of Text Technologies, Early American Literature,

Intermediate Spanish, and the Principles of Advertising (this one is for my minor).
Some of my hobbies include traveling (the pictures are all from my time studying abroad!), hanging out with friends, being with animals, and spending time outdoors! I am a tv show girl, ranging from Game of Thrones to Love Island to Selling Sunset!
I am so excited for this upcoming semester and to dive into this course!

XO,
Abigail Merzel
